4x4 indicator on and 4x4 don\'t work

Greetings,

Over the summer I bought a 1994 Bronco. The 4 wheel drive worked until my wife got stuck in front of the house (Bald tires). She beat the crap off of the drive trane (back and forth, tires smokin). Now, the 4X4 light is stuck on and 4X4 don't work at all. Any ideas?

4 Wheel drive did work, however low range, for some reason, didn't work. now I am stuck taking my Lumina out in the snow. (great car!)

Push button 4x4 or shift lever 4x4???
If it's push button the shift motor is wacked out and either needs rebuilt (cheap no guarantee) or replaced (expensive $250 but 12/12 warranty)

This is weird because that light should absolutely not be on unless the front fork is engaged...if it was a problem with the motor then either it should be stuck in 4wd or would not engage, one or the other, but the light should not be on and 4wd be off. Don't have a solution, just wanted to note that there may be another problem besides the motor.

Yes, the motor is frozen! Actually, the reason why the 4X4 light is oin is because the motor decided to die just before the pinion on the transfer case became lined up with 2H. I guess I need to take a beaten with the cost of a replacement.

thanks for your help!

Jeff
