5spd for 351M

does anyone know of a website or something where i can find a 5spd maunual for my 79 351 modified cleveland? It has a c-6 on it know and i'm going to rebuild the motor.

One more thing, someone told me the only difference between the 351 and 400's was the cam shaft and when i rebuilt mine i could make it a 400. Most of the specs in the chilton's manual look the same except for the stroke. Is this true?

thanks for anyone's help

Re: 5spd for 351M

Okay, I'm not going to be a lot of help, but here goes. I think the thing about the stroke is right, but I don't know if rods interchange or if anything else needs to be addressed. And on the 5-speed, here's an idea. It's my understanding that swapping a 460 into a 351/400M truck is not real difficult as the bellhousing is the same. Taking that logic, you might be able to use a 5-speed from a late-80's to mid-90's 460, but I don't know what you'd do about the T-case hookup as newer trucks don't use the same T-case as what you have. You may need to use the newer T-case as well for simplicity.

All of the above advice is coming from a guy who's never owned a Ford of any kind. So, DEFINITELY investigate further before you run with any of this "advice". Good luck with your project!
