JBA Headers

Well after waiting nearly 3 weeks for the JBA headers I ordered to arrive, I finally got them today. To my surprise though, each one has a different finish. The driver's side is a dull steel finish while the passenger side is a shiny, polished finished. Below is a link to a picture I took of the headers.

According to the JBA Header website, the headers they offer come either in a 1) nickel-plated chrome or 2) ceramic coating finish. I am correct to assume that the passenger side is nickel-plated and the driver's side is ceramic coated? Because the ceramic-coated header dissipates heat more effectively than the other side, will this HARM my Bronco in any way if I was to install the two headers?

Re: JBA Headers

What kind of finish did you order them in? If I were you, I would send them back and demand they send me two of the same finish header. It wont harm the engine. Mind you, that ceramic coated header is about twice the price of the regular nickle plated one and lasts longer...so if you ordered the plain ol nickle plated ones and they "accidentaly" sent you a ceramic coated one, I would call the place where you got them and tell them they better give you another ceramic coated one. If they refuse to give you another ceramic coated one, then keep at least that one you got. BUT If you ordered ceramic coated ones and they sent you one nickle plated header, I would complain. It wont harm the engine though as far as I can see. One header will outlast the other.

Re: JBA Headers

Thanks Rol231 for your reply. Money was tight so I ordered the Nickel-plated (Chrome Finish) JBA Headers instead of the ceramic coated. I know the nickel plated will not last as long as the ceramic but as long as the headers last for, lets say 5 years, I should be happy with them. By that time, my truck should have over 250K miles, and I will probably want to buy another car. I cannot quite tell if the driver's side is actually coated with ceramic though....

Does anyone know if JBA made headers in any other finish?
OR if from looking at the picture, the driver's side is in fact coated with ceramic?

Re: JBA Headers

I myself have bought a set of JBA headers and one was shinier than the other. I don't know if it will cause the duller one to corrode faster, so far so good. Good luck with the last bolt on the passanger side. I also broke the rearmost plug located on the passanger side twice. It ain't easy getting to.

Good Luck,

Bravoman
