80 Bronco???

Tommorow I am going to look at an 80 Bronco XLT with towing package.. Just wondering if someone would let me know what kinds of things to inspect. Also does someone know what the options were on this particular year?(engine, tranny, axles etc) Is this a good year for the Bronco. I saw it today and it looked pretty straight. Well any help would be great. Thanks Jay from Montana

Re: 80 Bronco???

For some quick info, check out: off-road.com/ford/bigbroncos/faq.html on this website. Probably want to read it from the beginning through '80.

I'm sure others can comment with more knowledge on this... I remember hearing here on this BB that in '80 Ford experimented with a lighter-duty frame, that it was not a good idea, and they went back to a more solid frame. Don't know if '81 was back to solid, or if it wasn't till '82.

Can anybody help out on this?
