Rear Locker Noise

Hooray, I finally finished swapping my gears. I thought that it would be difficult but it seemed very easy, which has me worried. The backlash seems right according to the contact pattern but there seems to be some play. My real concern is that I also installed a Detroit EZ-Locker and boy does it make noise. On straight aways it as quiet as before but on turns it makes a loud konking sound maybe a ratcheting sound. Is this normal?

Re: Rear Locker Noise

Man the detroit lockers of the 60's. They were brutally strong but loud as hell on turns. I believe that the EZ-locker is about the same as the detroit. Yes they do make noise when the side gears(?) latch and unlatch. They actually unlatch and allow the outside wheel to turn faster in a turn. Watch going around gradual turns on limited traction conditions with the power on. It may latch and unlatch, which can break the rear end loose. Unequal rear tire pressure can make it chatter when driving straight.
