Peeling paint

Rumour has it that Ford has acknowledged their problem with paint peeling off Bronco IIs (circa 1988) and may pay for the repair. Anyone else heard this and, if so, how to contact Ford?

Yes, go to your nearest dealer and let them inspect the vehicle (be firm or go directly to FORD). It's actually not the paint but the underlining primer they used. It seems the paint (certain colors) did not adhere to the base primer properly. Unfortunately, I personally painted my '88 Bronco and could not take advantage of the warranty claim. Good luck.

Thanks, I'll give it a try and let you know if I get anywhere.

Is this only pertaining to 1988 Bronco II 's or what? I have an '84 and the grey has chipped away causing little spots everywhere. Also where could I find more info on this, other than a dealership?

Re: Peeling paint

I think its a probem on all Ford Trucks made in the mid to late 80's. A friend of mine had both his 86 Bronco and 89 F-250 re-painted for free! That was a few years ago though... maybe in 92 or 93. I think its too late to have anything done about it now, but who knows... its worth a try.
