OT: Engine/Exhaust Sound

OK, I know there's some NASCAR fans out there, well, how about CART or IRL.
The latter 2 are combining forces, and coming up with a more pleasing exhaust note for the fans.
Hope ya got the speakers on.
da sound
I wonder what type of Flowmaster they're using?!

Re: OT: Engine/Exhaust Sound

Holy crap, we made that over at the AtlasF1 forums and I guess it has really gotten around. We were making fun of the new Minardi engine (Formula One), you can hear the traction control kick in too:)

Nothing compared to the actual v10 183ci running at 18500rpm though. Now that's an engine sound.

Now heres a real exhaust, with problems. This is my 88 and I finally got a recording of it sputtering, it only happens when you tap the throttle and it smokes enough to see, but its not blue smoke, its a grey, fire like smoke.

Just copy and paste it in your browser.

Re: OT: Engine/Exhaust Sound

It would help if I put some info to diagnose from.

88 Bronco, C6, 351W EFI

new Accel 24lb injectors
new Distributor cap
new Distributor Rotor
new Plugs
new Plug Wires
new Intake, Throttle Body, IAC, gaskets
cleaned IAC valve (if its still working)
cat's have over 180,000 miles on them.

Thanks

Re: OT: Engine/Exhaust Sound

Wow,
Sounds pretty good at home with the sub-woofer.
I can't help but notice the "tinny/mettalic/hollow sounding hum" at 23 seconds in.
Is that the sputter you're talking about?
Or when it actually dies?
Could be a fuel pressure problem.
The grey smoke sounds like a rich condition.
Might post a question that's not OT (off topic) on the forum.
Probably find better answers than I can give, since I'm not up to the technology of the electronic fuel injection age...yet.

Hmmm, AtlasF1 forums. Haven't found those.
I do read the forums at Speednet though.

Re: OT: Engine/Exhaust Sound

Thanks, thats feedback from the microphone, you can make out popping noises when it sputters and spits. I only noticed the grey smoke after the new injectors which I got by mistake, too high pressure? I heard stock was 19 but Jeg's *said* they would work fine.'

Thanks for the help though.
