95 Ram 1500 stock height and lift question

Anyone out there know what the factory lift or height on a 1995 ram 1500 4WD is? Someone told me it was 2.5" or thereabouts. I know they put blocks in the rear springs, but what about the front? I'm looking at putting a lift kit on the truck and am interested in figuring out "total" lift per se.

And what about the manufacturers' instructions on lift kits about stacking the new block for the rear on the original factory block? Heard some say not to do that (including a post on this board) but if you don't what happens to your rear lift?

Simple solution- get a lift kit with rear lift springs and not have to worry about the block.

Re: 95 Ram 1500 stock height and lift question

ok, heres, the deal...this is not a factory lift on a dodge ram. yes, the rear comes with blocks on the springs, but this is not a true lift, IT COMES THAT WAY. but to answer your question, the rear of 4x4 dodge ram sits 2.5" higher than the front. the front sits at the same hieght as the 2x4 model. also, if you are looking at lift kits, you will notice that a 5 inch lift is 5" in the front and usually around 3-4 in the rear depending on the quality. this all depends on the quality of the kit. a higher quality will have less lift in the rear to help level out the truck which allows much better handling off road

the front of a 4x4 does NOT sit the same height as a 4x2.
