front driveshaft

I have been restoring a 73 w200 . I have had the front driveshaft out for so long I can't remember which way it goes back in . I think that the sliding end goes to the transfercase . If any one knows please let me know . Thanks for the help .

Re: front driveshaft

It doesn't make any difference. If the female part of the splines is on the transfer case end, water can't run down the shaft and into the splines.
