Right now I have a '95 Dodge 1500 4x4 - I am wanting a 3/4 ton with a Cummins, but I had a question about something. Would it be possible to put a cummins into the 1500 body? I'm not sure if it would fit, or if it's possible for that matter. This may just be a stupid idea, but I would like to give it a try if it is possible. Thanks!

Re: Cummins?

of course it would fit--the bodies are the same across the line, 1500, 2500, and 3500. Though i probably wouldnt do it. The rest of the truck (axles, springs, frame, transmission, transfer case, driveshafts, the list goes on) wont stand up to the massive weight and torque of the CTD. If you have your heart set on the Cummins, I'd recommend finding a similar year truck in a 2500 or 3500 series that already has it--they are becoming affordable now. 98 and up have the option of the 24v engine.
