727 Transmissions

Hello, I have a 91 3/4 Ton dodge plow truck, with the 727 transmission. My reverse blew last winter, and I do have a two wheel drive '79 Dodge 1 ton van with a 727. Is this the same case that I could swap tailshafts and install until I can rebuild the bad one?

Thanks, Kevin

Re: 727 Transmissions

yes you can swap tail shafts BUT one problem you hafta completely dis-assembly each tranny to swap them / so you might as rebuild it / BUT you can buy just a gasket kit to do it for cheap
