33/12.50/17 trxus installed!

I installed the new tires today! They were a pain to mount on the rim surprisingly since I have 8" factory rims and the tire says an 8" rim works. Those new swampers are beefy and look awesome! I think the reason why it was so hard mounting them was the sidewalls wouldn't flex in as the machine turned the rim and tire. These new tires are similiar to the bf mud tires but are way better since its got lots of sipping and sidewall protection and plus its much heavier due to all the extra rubber! They took an average of 8-10 ounces of combined weight [front and back] and they ride pretty quietly even down the highway, very good for this new load range E radial swamper! It even looks like I would clear a 35" tire barely too, theres no 17"-35 yet but probaly soon...

Sweet, keep us informed. I'm still debating a set of 285/75R16 TrXus MT's or some 285/75R16 Cooper Discoverer ST's. I know the TrXus MT's do well offroad, but tread life is important with my budget and learning to fly.

speaking of tires... Swamper are you still wanting some of those 66" Terra tires? JEEPGUY on the usa6x6 forums has 5 of them for sale... he originally asked 500 each but got no response so he's going to lower the price... try him at 350 and i bet he'll bite. here's one of them that he posted:

Re: 33/12.50/17 trxus installed!

I had seen his post there, I would love them, 66" terra's are mint tires but I don't have enough power to turn them with my stock 360! Plus I would need an absolutely huge lift just to clear them not to mention the even bigger axles that would be required! 2 1/2 rockwells are good up to a 54" tire according to Daniel at usa6x6, I would need a minimum of a 5 ton rockwell and there gearing is higher than the 2 1/2 ton, I hink 5:88 to 6:72... You see that f150 on the cover of the newest 4x4 mag? Thats just about what I want, 48"-54" terras and 2 1/2 rockwells with 4 wheel steering with a possible np200 transfercase and possiblily coil over shocks and 4 link or leaf springs and a 2 link... Not sure whats attainable yet $$$$.
