Re: need one ton dana 60 front

I don't want my dana 60's, I want 2 1/2 ton rockwells instead, there much better! Although my 89 jeep wrangler could use the 60's... Damn wimpy dana 30-35.

Re: need one ton dana 60 front

hey swamper, did you ever figure out how much lift you need to clear the rockwell in the front? that is the biggest problem with those things.. everything else about them is awesome

Re: need one ton dana 60 front

Yes, Daniel from usa6x6.com said I need 9" of lift to keep the top of the rockwell from going through the oil pan. I want it liftd up much higher to clear 48"+ tractor tires so probaly at least 20" lift...

Re: need one ton dana 60 front

you talkin bout wide floater type tires or diggers? i think you could put narrow 48's under 15" lift no problem, but 20" lets you go through deeper lakes

Re: need one ton dana 60 front

Cool tires, bad truck! Looks like 48's at the most, looks like I should get even bigger tires then... Daniel from usa6x6 says that over 54" tires should have 5 ton rockwells so maybe a bigger upgrade than the 2 1/2 ton-ers. I tried looking up goodyear tire for the big boys but they messed up their web site and now I can't find it but before they had some 77" tractor tires that I would love to throw on the old retired from the road-"dodge". I just took off the plates to switch over to the new 03 dodge!!! The old one is going to be bigger than ever with hydrolic steering and an unknown sized tire. Just wish there was places to play with it after its done sometime next year...
