Re: 727 TO DANA 300

There is a Dodge sales manager in San Diego that is doing this. He is putting in a 518 for some reason (don't do that if you use the Jeep hard). He says they bolt right up, but I'd check the Jeep line here or Offroad Digest at [email protected]. You'll get a ton of help (and some flames) from that line. You can also post at Bill Cooke's site. The Dodge site there is http://www.offroadexchange.com/wwwboard/wwwboard.htm The Jeep site is http://www.offroadexchange.com/jeep/index.htm Good Luck

Re: 727 TO DANA 300

Yes, you can bolt the 727 up to the dana 300. However, you'll need to go to a junk yard and get the output shaft and adaptor off of a Jeep Wagoneer with a 727 automatic. The CJ will need one of three things, 1) 4" or more lift, 2) a two piece front drive shaft, or 3) a modified AT pan... to keep the front drive shaft from slamming into the AT pan. The CJ's came with TF999 ATs so a Chrysler 999 could also be used with this swap and would clear the front drive shaft. I looked into this swap, but decided to go with a AMC 360. Also, from what I've heard, Dodge Magnum motor mounts work pretty well for the Chrysler 318 swap... weld in nicely and are beefy.

Good luck,
