My 77 dodge powerwagon has a 360 with a holly 2bbl carb. When I hook up a vacuume guage it only reads about 14 to 15 hg. Why could this be? I replaced the intake gaskets and rebuilt the carb but it's the same.
On my trailduster with a 4bbl it reads over 18.
Any Ideas or is this just how the 2bbls are set up?
Thanks for the help.
I haven't done anything to it other that putting a Holley 4bbl carb and manifold but I had to reinstall the 2bbl to pass Calif. smog check. I wonder if the cam is stock. This thing has more torqe and grunt that stock and it had headers and dual glass pack exaust and a bunch of other goodies. I set the timing at TDC as specified on the sticker and reinstalled stock exaust maifolds (smog check stuff).
As for EGR, when I had the 4bbl the intake had no EGR and the readings were the same.
But I bought it three years ago and was modified as I stated above by the previouse owner so I know if I were to have done all those mods it WOULD have included a new cam.
