Straight-Axle D-50

Can't remember who was asking about one of these, but here's a shot of a friend's straight-axle D-50. This one's being built for "Fast Track" Super Stock mud racing. It'll have a 340/727 combo, 4-wheel discs, a 9" rear with 5.13's, 44 front with 4.88's, 34" Swampers front & 35X16 Boggers rear.

Pretty cool, eh?

Hey Mongoose!

Looks like ya found us here. Somebody was asking about doing this awhile back & I tried to post the original pics you sent to me, but the file size was too big. So, I swiped this one from your album on the mud bogging/mud dragging board & posted it for the dude. I see you've made some progress since the last pics. Got the motor in it yet? Any PROgress on the "new" Mud Pony to report?

Re: Straight-Axle D-50

Yea, got the motor in with the tranny and transfer case. have to do some firewall work to make some room for the motor. got the ladder bars built for the rear, but not in place yet. going to have to make some headers. imagine that, no one makes a set for a small block in a straight axle d-50! no new progress on the mud pony to report yet. He's just like me, covered up and too busy. will get some pics done of his when we start makeing progress. i have been reading this board for a couple of months now and have posted a few times. i really enjoy the board and i have picked up some good info. keep me posted on the races!!!
