Ram boost

Got a 97 3/4 Dodge Ram Diesel. Banks makes a great(?) upgrade kit which includes new turbo housing. Seems a little much. Is there a kit out there that approaches the advertised power of the Banks kit but requires fewer modifications and/or replacement of parts? If so, who makes it? Thanx.

Re: Ram boost

Hello, I personally wouldnt go for the banks kit, especially on a 12V engine. With banks you get to buy a lot of stuff that really isnt needed. I belive the banks kit is near $1000. You can go to www.tstproducts.com and get 230hp and 605 ft lb from just $300. If your sayin price must mean quality well Mr Mark Chapple of TST is a retired Cummins employee, he is listed as the inventor of the Holset turbo design for all Cummins engines. Thats enuf for me. Also dont go for banks quick turbo. Its actually slower because its a larger 14cm housing compared to the stock 12cm housing, it is also made by Holset and banks just puts it in thier box. BTW the way Mark upgrades is the exact same way Cummins does if you get their $2500 uprate kit, the only thing you dont get is the Cummins warranty, also banks voids the warranty too.
