front axle bolt patterns

I'm going to look at a front axle fron an '80s Ramcharger (not sure the exact year). I want to use it in the front of my '73 W100 as mine has front drums and I want discs. The guy selling it thinks that it has the small 5 bolt pattern. Can I convert it to a large 5 bolt (or even an 8 bolt to match my Dana 60 rear just by swapping the disc/hub assembly or are they differnt bearing sizes? Also what years did Dodge use the small bolt pattern on Ramchargers? Thanx.

Re: front axle bolt patterns

Clay, The small bolt patterns were from 75-79, full time 4wd. If you want to change the bolt pattern, you need the The whole knuckle
assembly. The 80 up had the larger bolt pattern. I understand from Jason H that you reside in Alberta to.. If this is the case, leave a
message and I can set you up with whatever axle/bolt pattern you wish, I have lots of parts and know where some 8 bolt dana 44's are
Unfortunately I just sold my last dana 60 front end, but it is THE axle to install..Maxt
