Dakota lift?

Anyone have any experience with the new Tuff Country lift for the late model Dakotas? Thinking of putting one on my '98. Info on quality, installation, and general comments about the kit would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Marc

Re: Dakota lift?

Hey Marc,
Yep it's on my 98 right now. I did it myself and it really wasn't that bad.
I think the quality is fine and the components are pretty beefy. Tuff Country did have to send some different parts though (next day air at no cost!!). They
have two different designs of the center link and the rear shocks were too short. It rides just like stock other than the hummmm from my 33 in Super Swampers. It comes with 1 in add-a-leafs (which I hate)for the rear, but I took them out and it's perfectly level and rides much smoother.

I have a picture under my profile. If you right click, you can view it. You can also go to http://www.superskunks.com This is another guy who did the same kit and posted my pictures on his site. Mel's is white, Tony's is Yellow, and mine is the Intense Blue.

You're in San Jose?? I work in Morgan Hill and my parents live in SJ. Let me know and we can meet up if you want to look at it. Email me and I can give you the long version or answer any specific questions!!

Hi John,

You didn't leave an e-mail address, so I can't e-mail you. :)

I'd love to see your Dak in person - we may be going mudding this weekend at a friend's ranch -he just drained his pond, so he's got lots of goo in his field. You want to come up and get sloppy with us? My Dak is Intense Blue too, except it has driftwood on the lower part, and is an SLT. I'm hoping for a lift for Xmas (or lockers for my Jeep!), so I'm very interested in the long version of your story.

Please <a href="mailto:[email protected]>e-mail me</a> when you get a chance! Thanks!

Re: Dakota lift?

Sorry about that Marc. I thought I had my address on my profile. It's [email protected] for future reference.

Where are you guys heading to this weekend, I may be interested. I have yet to really try it out since the lift was installed. I'm heading up to Shasta next weekend, so that should be good. I checked out the website you had attached, is that the club you're with?? Looks pretty cool, where are you guys based out of?? I live near Los Banos.

Overall, I like the kit. I think the parts are really strong and it was relatively easy to install, but it has it's drawbacks like all kits. Do you have and email address I can use to give you the long version?? I tried the one on your profile, but I'm not sure it worked.

thanks,

John
