gas tanks

Does anyone know of a place that definitly sells oversized gas tanks for the older Ramchargers?
I've checked out a few places, and they are all for the pickups.

If not, has anyone had experience with custom built tanks? Like how much $$$, and how well do they work as far as reading correctly on the gas gauge.

Re: gas tanks

What is it you are looking to acheive? Isn't the 32 gallons enough or is your original no good? Almost all the other parts fit from PU to R/C won't the tank? I know more questions and no answers sorry. Happy trails Joe

Re: gas tanks

I need more capacity.
32 gallons barely got me to the offroad park, about 250 miles away, and that was with a 360.
Now that I have a 440 with a bigger carb, I expect it will eat even more gas.

Re: gas tanks

Strangely enough . . . J.C.Whitney's latest catalog lists a 45 gal. tank. The Part# is 96nt3022wf $394.95 They are on page 23 of the catalog that is on the newsstands right now, picked this one up at the grocery store Sunday. I haven't looked at one of these catalogs in years and some of the stuff that was in the catalogs when I was a kid are still there. We used to go to their store in the early 60's and buy stuff for our cars . . . amazing.
