No Heat?

I have a 85 Ramcharger and the heater isn't working. The guy I bought it from said he just went through the heater core. I took the radiator cap off and started it up to make sure I was getting flow through the radiator and I am. The only other thing I can think of is maybe the thermostat. Does anyone have any advice for me. It's starting to get cold here in Minnesota and I need the heater working.

Any help would be appreciated!!!

Thanks!

Re: No Heat?

Is the temp gauge coming up at all? If it is then I would think that t-stat is ok. Try opening the vent on the passenger and sticking your hand in. You should be able to touch the core and fell if it is getting hot. If its not check the in line valve to ensure that it is not stuck and preventing the fluid from reachiing the core. Also check the heater hoses to ensure that they are hooked up correctly.

Re: No Heat?

When the heat doesn't work the first part you replace is the thermostat. Quick easy and simple and is almost always the cause of poor heat. If that doesn't do it then look for the more possibilities Have fun Joe

Re: No Heat?

One thing you can check is the valve under the hood is actually being opened and closed if you don't have A/C then the cable running to the valve may be broken. some times they break and you cant even tell from in the cab because the cable is corroded and doen't slide easily. Just a thought. T
Check the attachment 99 RC not sold in U.S this is BS.
