318 1985 Ramcharger Engine Vibration

I have a probelm with my 318 85' ramcharger. It has a wicked vibration in the engine. It is definetly with the mechanics of the engine not mounts or anything. Does not matter if I am moving or parked. (Automatic trans) The vibration seems to resonate at certain RPMs (about 1/4 to 1/2 throttle), milds out above and below the RPM's. Load affects it not. I had just replaced the timing chain after the old one jumped from being wickedly stretched out. Could I have bent something. Could it be the timing or just the harmonic balancer going out. Any suggestions would be helpful. If it is most likely valve train would a rebuilt block from the auto store be a good idea?

Re: 318 1985 Ramcharger Engine Vibration

Check to make sure the main bolt on your harmonic balancer is still tight. After doing a head gasket change an OHC engine I had a similar problem a couple weeks later, turned out I haddn't gotten the crank bolt tight enough and it came loose again.
Good Luck.
