Need parts for POWERWAGON

Hi All,
I am usually on the TOYOTA page but I need help with a steering problem!
My old man has a '77 Powerwagon that pretty much goes where it wants to whether he likes it or not. I need to know if there is a good parts yard for these old monsters. There is no place in Birmingham that has dodge parts, much less antique steering boxes for 4X4's. Does anyone make a rebuild kit for this application? Would it be just as expensive to buy a questionable used box as to buy a refurb from DODGE?
Any help would be appreciated, before Pop runs over somebody!
Thanks,
HOTRICE

Re: Need parts for POWERWAGON

I have a good used power steering box off of a 78 but I have to ask if your sure that's the problem... I would part with the box for $50.00 plus shiping.

Re: Need parts for POWERWAGON

Buy one from Auto Zone or Checker......make sure that the intermediate shaft isnt worn and see my post to Vern on steering the other day it tells how to adjust out the slop in an old worn out Saginaw box....later.......robo

Re: Need parts for POWERWAGON

Check the steering shaft, thats what caused most of my slop. Don't use a steering box from a 78 the 77 is mounted on a steel bracket that is attached to the frame. The 78 had it mounted directly to the frame I owned both years at one time.
