I am about to fly from my home in SanJuanCapistrano Calif to pick up the truck in Reno, Nevada. I have been looking for this a long gime but it will be my first Ram. It is D250, [I assume that automatically means the Cummins 6cyl. 5.9] 109K mi., 5spd., 4WD, long bed, std cab, big tires, power window/door lock package [I wish it had cranks but oh well]. I will probably pay about $10K. Anything I should watch out for? Are 0owners generaly happy with these beasts.? Anybody closer to me have one for sale? 'Course they are really rare around So. Calif. Also anybody know if there is an overload kit available like the one that bolts up easy to the F250?
Thanks in advance for any info or encouragement [or discouragement I suppose] [email protected]
I'm not an owner (but I wish I was; that's why I'm here ). The Cummins B5.9l is one of the toughest engines out there. It'll go 300,000 miles before an overhaul and has good power, and gets 20+ mpg.
But, just because it's a D250 doesn't necessarily means it's Cummins powered. It probably is, but it could be a 360. If I had $10k, I'd buy that truck in a heartbeat. Good luck!
