Oil sender on Ram

A buddy of mines oil pressure gauge is going haywire. I was betting on the oil sender. The only thing that I could find on that resembled an oil sender was on the back of the block near the distributor. Is this it?

Do Rams have knock sensors?

The truck is a 96 with 318.

Re: Oil sender on Ram

That's where it was on my 79 Ramcharger. BAck of engine, top, by firewall. Mine has a regular wet gauge, except I have almost no oil pressure. Someone said possibly bad cam bearings. Only use the Dodge for plowing my drive an my brother-in-laws. Been running close to zero pressure for the past two or three years, no problems yet. Replaced the flex plate this year as it let go last season. By the way our drives are dirt, in the country, Mid-Michigan and mine is over 2000' feet.

Ok, thanks.

I live in the country too. My driveway is 2.2 miles long.
Roughly 11,616 feet.
