9.25 axle shaft lengths??

Just picked up some rear 9.25 axleshafts out of a mid 80s 9.25 axle. They are the 5 on 5.5 bolt pattern and was wondering if anyone knows weather or not they will bolt into my 79 9.25 axle.

Thanks.

Re: 9.25 axle shaft lengths??

probably... according to my info, 75-83 and 84-93 technically use a different shaft but the only difference i see is that the later ones are 31 5/8" long vs the older 31 11/16" length, so even if the "mid-80's" one is 84-later style, it seems like it'd work but just use 1/16" less splines of the side gears in the diff. this assumes they are not c-clip axles... i cant remember if dodge uses them, but if they do then i'd say no they wont work unless those shafts you got are 83 or older.
