Transfer case.......

My friend has an automatic '82 ram charger and when its in 4 wheel drive and you put it in gear it drops real hard. Is this a bad transfer or is it something easy?

Re: Transfer case.......

howdy / is the idle to high[drive line shock] when put in gear / does the transfer case shifter move alot in 4x4 [bad transfer case bushings] / how about u-joints / drive shaft splines /weak rear leaf springs / have somebody look under it while he shifts it back and forth to see what if anything is moving / if the transfer case has that much slop you would hear the transfer case chain hittin the case while yer driving / turn the idle down first and then go from there / good luck and MOPAR TO YA !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
