Tow Hooks

Ok, where and how can I put tow hooks or D-rings on the front and rear of my 99 Dak? I want to start wheelin with it, but it doesn't have those basic elements! Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I'm still learnin about my new truck.

Re: Tow Hooks

Welcome to the board, the best way for the rear is to buy a class 3 or 4 receiver hitch and use a recovery shackle, I use a shackle by Warn that plugs right in. The hitch setup strenghthens the rear and makes a more stable way of recovery. The front hooks can be attached to the front of the frame on either side with the use of brackets. I have yet to research it yet but I'm sure the dealer sells them. I've seen people bolt them to the front sheetmetal pan, but they will rip out there. I have a 97 but I believe the 2001 and newer have cutouts on the front fascia where the hooks mount so you can get an idea. If you mount them on the front without some sort of drop down you will have to cut some plastic.Always make sure they are bolted to the frame. Good Luck!

Re: Tow Hooks

Thanks for the help! I'll check into it. That's pretty much along the lines of what I was thinkin, I just wanted a second opinion. I don't mind cuttin a little plastic in order to be able to get myself right-side up again.
