electronic dash

if i remove the dash from my 2002 dodge ram, will it screw up my odometer reading? is the "memory contained in the dash itself or the trucks computer?

Re: electronic dash

why are you removing it / I have a 2001 that I installed a new sterio and car starter by just removing the face plate surround with that off there is a lot of room /once thats off you can see the whole inside of the dash / I looked at the speedo and it looks like it dont come out that easy / unless you are changing the whole dash leave it alone / there is no reason why you hafta take it out unless its BAD and then the dealer should do it

Re: electronic dash

probably the dash, that's where ford puts it. surely dodge has a way to transfer your mileage to the new unit, i assume you're replacing it? taking it out and putting it back wont erase the mileage, it's permanent eeprom.
