sounds like some kind of R12 A/C freon... that stuff has gotten EXPENSIVE

freeze 12 is actually a R134 mix which they say is a drop in replacement for R12. Its actually 80% 134 and 20% 142b. The 142b is to carry the mineral oil around the AC system because the 134 wont.

If you have a "Big A Auto Parts", "Choice Auto Parts", or "Bumper to Bumper auto parts" in your area, they sell it. I believe NAPA may have it also.
Or, you can get it mailorder from <a target="_blank" href=http://autorefrigerants.com/>http://autorefrigerants.com/</a> and several other online sources.

Wooo, looks like a good solution for my samurai. A case of 12 is avail on e-bay for 55 dollars shipped. Any 12 cans, refrigerant, oil, dye, etc.. [img]images/icons/laugh.gif[/img]

Note, this is a HC (hydrocarbon) replacement, it's basically propane and butane (NOT ISOBUTANE!!!). Anywhoo, I've done lots of reading on this, looks like a good replacement. [img]images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]
