Anybody here a Dodge Caravan guru?

Hi all. I drive a '97 Caravan with a 3.0 V6. The other day my "service engine soon" light came on. I drove it to a dealer and had the code read. It was "P1494 - Leak Detection Pump Switch". I had them clear the code, and the light went off. Two days later, it's back on again! What the heck is a leak detection pump? Is this an easy fix? TIA

You got me, I never heard of it. If its emission related then its under warranty till 80,000 miles/ ? years. I would just thumb through a repair manual at a local parts store or just call the dealer and ask and make them work for you. Or even ask the cost on the repair/ replacement cost of the unit and labor. Good luck...

Get ahold of LEVE on the Short Wheelbase Jeep board. He knows Caravans inside out. I think he has built three good minivans out of two junk ones. That's how good he is!
