Military 1 1/4 ton .any good?

I am looking to buy a military dodge,new engine,torque cam,alum. manifold,new carb,header,flow master,new t-case,and springs.What do I need to watch out for?Fuel mileage on the road? Is this a basic dodge truck,What lockers would you install?Any other idea welcome,thanks RR

Good!, more than likely it has a 60 front and a 70 rear. Probably 4.88 gears and it probably has a factory Detroit in the rear. Good Find.

hayraker,It has a 60 in the back and a H.D. 44 up front.It looks like the last issue of Dodges in the late 70s and 80s.It has been rebuilt,but I dont know how hard parts are to get and looking in the 4x4 mags,there does not seem to be much out there for Dodges.Anyone out there carry any goodies for the Dodges.Thanks for your help,RR

hmmm, either somebody stripped it, or it is a regular 3/4 instead of a 5/4, Either way it is still basic Dodge, and parts are available everywhere. Dodge didn't change much over the years and it makes getting parts alot easier.

hayraker,according to the military sites I found last night,all of the M880s had H.D. 44s up front and Dana 60s in the rear.Do you know any sites I can go to for military questions?Thanks RR

Hayraker,it is all but a done deal.I found out the guy has completely rebuilt the truck,3000 miles on it and $10,000 in receipts.How do I find Mike Shannons E-mail.address.Thanks for all your help.RR
