ball joints
Its time to replace my factory ball joints at 108,000 showing miles on my dana 60, is it easy and when the old is out how is the new installed back in? Is it just tightening the nut to set them in? I've seen the tool for doing them but don't know if its used for removal or installing or even both... They have some bad play in them and need to replace this week...

Re: ball joints
yes it's easy if it's like most axles. get that big c-clamp tool and press them out and then back in. you might be able to do it with big sockets and a hammer, but the tool is free loaner at autozone so why not use it? worst part is tearing everything down to get to them, especially if your axle shafts are held into the diff with clips cuz you have to pull the cover. mine werent but i know some are.

Re: ball joints
I did the side that was the worst and its not to bad of a job with an air gun and the tool espicially with a milk crate of different size pieces for spacers etc thanks to the local dodge dealer. I'll do the other side soon but probaly at the dealer some saturday, since this bending over stuff stinks when you can stand next to a lift...
