Got new truck finally

Well I traded in the diesel for a '94 single cab Dodge 4x4(89,000 miles) with the 5.2 engine. It has a 3" susp and 3" body lift on it right now and 33x12.50x15 tires(needs bigger tires). I plan on taking the 3" susp lift off and get a 5" lift. A got a few questions if some of yall can help me out.

1. I plan on lifting it 8" total, whats the biggest tires that I can put on it? Does the 5.2 have enough power to turn 36" or 38" tires or will this put too much strain on the engine?

2. My truck has dual exhausts but its not loud enough . I want to take the cat and muffler off, but will this screw up the sensors or computer? Will the check engine light keep on coming on?

3. I want to give the truck more HP and torque. What do yall recommend I buy? K&N filter, chip, or what?

Thanks

Re: Got new truck finally

38's will fit with the 5" lift/ 3" body and if it has 4:10's then probaly fine, the only size upgrade I believe is 4:56's for your 1/2 ton axles. Gearing will give your truck back some power that was lost from the strain of turning over bigger tires... I believe the sensor will mess up if the cat isn't there but not sure definately. I am installing headers with hollow cats with dual super trapp mufflers. I have flow masters now which soud great but not loud enough.
