clutchless shifting a NV4500?

Just wondering how hard it is to do? I've tried a little here and there, and a couple of gears(3-to-4 & 4-to-5) I can do fairly well. Does anyone do this other than me? I imagine if you learned how to do it really well it wouldn't hurt the tranny, and it'd save life on the clutch. I bought my truck last Aug. with 123K on it and I think its still on the original clutch, but I'm not sure. I hope to make it last a while too because I'd be up [censored] creek without a paddle if it went out on me. Anyhow suggestions and comments are greatly welcomed. Thanks

Re: clutchless shifting a NV4500?

every once in a while i have shifted from 3 - 4 without the clutch. This was discussed in great detail over on the TDR a while back and if i remember right the general concensus was that it was not real good for the tranny. They were not designed to do this. I'll do some searching and see if i can find the thread for you.

here are a couple of links for you
