steering stabilizer????

Okay... I feel like a fool with this one. I can't figure out how to get the old steering stabilizer off to replace it. I bashed the old one on some rocks and destroyed it... Now I can't replace it. I can get the bottom bolt off, but the top one is a mystery to me... I've taken the nut off the back, tried to pull, pry, bang, and otherwise force the bugger out, but it doesn't move. Is it threaded? Splined? What is the secret to getting this little ba$tard off so I can steer straight again?

Almost forgot... my truck is a '97 1500 4x4, if that helps.

Re: steering stabilizer????

On my 95 2500 its mounted to the frame and the draglink, i'm not sure if yours is mounted to the axle and tierod but mine is just thru bolted on. Is the bolt coming out or possibly spinning? I would just hit the end of the bolt out and put in the new shock...
