brake experts please

Boy am I having fun. The left rear drum keeps over adjusting itself to the point that the truck will not move. If I “unadjusted” it the brake is fine. Than some time later the drum over adjusts and stops. I have replaced the wheel cylinder in case it stuck no luck. I also replaced the shoes and grease the contact points, no luck. Change the springs that are on top by the wheel cylinder, no luck. I’m thinking about the adjustment cable next. Has anybody had this problem before?
Thanks
Joe

Re: brake experts please

HOWDY / I sure have had this problem before / here are the things that cause it / #1 not be,in adjusted enuf and the shoes are movin to far [ a slight drag is what you want ] #2 the wrong adjuster [ if you swap them side to side one will over adjust and the other will unadjust ] or installed backwards it happens to the best of us #3 the wrong wheel clynders/10 inch on 11 inch brakes and vice a versa / the shoes hafta move a certian distance before it moves the cable to turn the adjuster / the wrong shoes will do it to [ 10 inch shoes on 11 inch brakes / basiclly something is movin to far and over adjusting / I hope this helps and good luck / MOPAR TO YA ////////////////////////// DEANO
