Dodge 3.3 L engine question...??

I realize that this is not in an off road vehicle, but I wanted to ask you all if you might know...

I have a 2000 dodge grand caravan with the 3.3 liter engine in it...
the gas mileage sucks... 18 mpg... what should that engine be getting and what are some things I can check to get the mileage up...
it has a k&n air filter in it, I change the oil every 3k miles, it only has 44K miles on it right now....

any suggestions would be greatly appreciated...
thanks

Keep the air pressure checked regularly, if there below the normal they can work against you. 18 mpg would be greatly accepted with open arms if it was for my ram truck!!!!! :-)
Maybe one other thing would be better flow thru the exhaust but its a minivan, more hp usually helps mpg, less on the pedal to keep it up to speed. My old 86 corvette got great mpg, around 25 highway if I remember correctly, its been 5 years!
