02 CR250R Jetting

Anybody have any probs with their 2002 CR 250 jetting?
I'm having some probs dialing this badboy in.
She keeps running rich....and fouling out plugs.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Jerry D

Re: 02 CR250R Jetting

i had the same problem with my 97' yz125, when i would start it then i would have to get right on the gas and get in about 4th gear then it wouldnt foul a plug, and if youve been riding it for a while then you arent on the gas for a little then it will want to foul a plug. so i sold it and bough a 99' yz400F and this bike kicks ass! i only have good things to say about this bike.

Re: 02 CR250R Jetting

what do you run your premix at? what type of oil and fuel?
maybe you want to go up on the neeedle position or down main jet? i am not to good with carbs cause my bike has always run top with any changes that i have done. do you lug around alot or always rippen and it still fouls.

Re: 02 CR250R Jetting

I'm running 36:1 Elf oil and 94oct Sunoco gas.
Should i use a BR9EG plug or a BR8EG?
I'm gonna try to move the needle clip up one and see what happens and maybe open the air screw up about a half a turn.
I'll keep u posted.Thanks for the advice.

This months Dirt Bike mag makes refference to that in there shootout, and also what jetting specs they ended up with. Very worthwhile article.
