clutch adjustment or replace

i have a 1997 yz 250 and the clutch is acting up. when lever is pulled in i can still give it throttle and i will go. the cable is adjusted out as far as possible so i am thinking it is a cable replacement and nothing else. i just got the bike and do not really know to much about it..
thanks for any help that i can get on this.

Re: clutch adjustment or replace

Replace the cable because you've got to anyway. If it's still dragging then try deglazing the drive plates. Check the friction plates to see if they're any good while it's apart. Check the length of the springs too. Then sell it all and buy a 4-stroke.
