89 Yamaha YZ 125

i have a 1989 yamaha yz 125, and the fork seals are leaking. does anyone know the procedure for replacing and installing new ones?

You will need to by a special tool that runs about 50$ from your dealler. I was gonna do mine my self but then I was like no way looks why to complicated so i set my out and it cost me 170$ but I also had every redone all new bushings and stuff. I dont know how to do the old ones but If you have the new ones I think its worth sending them out.

It's not really a big job to do fork seals.And usually you can go without the special tools.
I would try and clean them out first by taking the dust wiper off and taking film negative and clean out the seal by inserting it in the seal and using contact cleaner it usually stops them from leaking.
If that doesnt work than re do the seals.

First thing to do is GTM.......(get the manual)....
otherwise the second thing is going to be asking how much oil goes back in??

Be sure to get the Factory service manual
