SOLD

Sold that bitch of a bike today (CR500) and i'm going balls out for a new one this week. Wish me luck on a good find. I've found two KTM LC4 400s. The first one is a 99' with 1000miles, and the second is a 00' with 4900miles. Both have Big gun exhaust and are jetted. The second bike is owned by a real nice guy, he owns Ducati's and I'm sure he has maintained it real well. Both bikes are priced closed to one another, the 99' is 4900 and the 00' is 4600. I'm sure both are negotiable, but I don't know if there were any major changes if any between 99' and 00'. If any of you guys know please inform me, plus how long is the life expectancy of a dirtbike? I know maintaince is everything, but just trying to get an idea because i can probably talk the guy with the 00' down to 4grand, but i don't want it to fall apart in two weeks. I do know that 95%of the miles were on road miles. Thanks guys, Marc

Re: SOLD

I'm not sure, but as with most KTM's they get up dated every year, so get the 00. and it just sounds better than a 99, dosn't it?

You are going to dual sport it right??

Re: SOLD

Yes I'm going with the dual sport. Should I just forget that it has damn near close to 5000miles. I got 2500 for the 97' CR500, not much of a market around here for such a bike, so when someone wants it, you better jump on it cause it may be awile before someone else is ready to fork out that kind of money.

Re: SOLD

no, the thing is that obviously it is jetted, or it would not run. its not some mystical art

it is not a 'mod' by any means. christ its a $2.50 job that takes 5 min. any tool can and should know how to do it. not a big selling feature

you don't jet because some chart or company tells you to, you jet when your bike does not run well and the charts just help steer you in the right direction

You wear your silver chain but the cross won't stop the lies, you believe in nothing
