CR125 vs. XR250

I'm thinking about sellin the old SP125 in a few months. I just don't know what to get next. I want a fun woods/trails bike, but I'm not completely sure if I can handle a 2-stroke. The SP is fine in the woods, but it SUCKS on jumps and stuff. The suspension is rough too. What would be the best bike for me? I'm thinkin CR125 or XR250. I'm 5'7" and 140lbs.

Re: CR125 vs. XR250

go with the 125. i have ridden both in heavy a$$ woods and the xr250 just doesn't have the balls for climbing and muskeg and ****e

yz has been on the smack lately. learn to ride, then get a twofiddy. you will be a much better rider for it

You wear your silver chain but the cross won't stop the lies, you believe in nothing

Re: CR125 vs. XR250

Get the XR250.... Ride that for a few years and then you'll be ready for a 2 stroke 250 or what ever??

125 motocross bikes ususally dont have alot of low end power and that makes them harder to ride in tight woods, Thats what makes a 250 2-stroke a easier bike to ride.

Another great bike to think about is a KDX200

Re: CR125 vs. XR250

I'd kill myself on a 2-stroke 250. What kinds of additional maintenence would i have to do on a 2-stroke?

Re: CR125 vs. XR250

Thats kind of an open ended question....

Water cooled bikes have radiators (duh?) and some 2strokes have power valves in the exhaust port that need to be cleaned every so often ,and the piston and rings need to be replaced every couple of seasons (depends though!)... but it's not really that hard IF YOU HAVE THE MANUAL (and can follow written directions)!!!
but a 125 motocross bike is usually harder to ride than a 250 motorcross bike..... so either way you'll kill yourself

Re: CR125 vs. XR250

UNBUNCH YOUR PANTIES COOLKAT, the xr will be fun yes, but after about a week when you ride a yz250 you'll get back on your bike and be like why is my bike so slow, i am melting, overload , system failure, then you will wake up from your horrid dream remem you bought the 250 yz and hop back on that bear and staart rippen wheelies in fifth at 2 am like burrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr till they take you to the mental institute. or you can get what you want . ride em all, thats what i tell all the ladies

When in doubt, GAS IT
