whats wrong with my throttle?

It used to idle low so I adjusted it a bit tighter. It was fine for a while until recently. When I start the bike (choke on) it redlines itself and just roars, the r's get so high that the engine stop switch won't even shut it down. Once it warms up I turn the choke off and the r's go to normal. Then it continues to run fine and idle at the correct range. I think the throttle changes as the handlebars turn (it runs across and gets pulled). I don't understand why it isn't consistent though. Just the other day it was fine then went WOT on me after using it for 15 min. what the heck?

Re: whats wrong with my throttle?

Check if the cable is wrapped around the handle bars or any thing else. You want some slack cable but not to much....
