carb problems

Hi, hope someone can help me out. The bike is a 2005 Suzuki drz 125 L. The bike sit up for about 4 months would not start at all. The bike was bought new so it was time to reajust the carb so pulled carb off bike and then took apart and soak. Jets where filled up solid with old fuel so I took it all apart. Put it back together and set air/ fuel mix to 2 1/2 turns out so for so good. Now the bike sounds like its running to rich have not had time to pull the plug yet and check. Also the idle screw has no affect on idle. Any help wold be great Ragbag.

Time to strip and soak that carb again this time however use compressed air and blow through ALL the passages, (particularly through the air screw!)

Suzuki carb problems

Well, I would like to thank every one for the response on my problem. Ifound time to tear it back down again. Soak and used small piece of wire for holes in carb. Soaked again and then blew the carb out real well. Put back together adjusted the air/fuel screw to 2 1/2. Reinstalled back on bike five kicks later purring like a kitten and it not running rich either. Thanks a lot for the help. Now its time to start on the drz400 same problem Ragbag.
