Finding parts for 85 ATK

HI all, i picked up an 85 ATK 560 kindof on a whim (it was cheap), it needs sevral parts: sprocket, fork seals, brake hose, etc... i'm finding it difficult to find parts for it, my local shop is calling around for me, and if anyone knows parts that cross from other makes, or good sources for oem/aftermarket parts etc.. please let me know, i've emailed a few companies but haven't gotten any satisfactory replies, andthe nearst atk dealer is about 6 hours from me. Thanks! Matt

Re: Finding parts for 85 ATK

What kind of dealer are you going to?
What kind of fork does it have? I thought the "first" ATK's used KTM forks ?
The sprokets shouldn't be that hard to find either.....

Does your have the rear brake on the motor?

For the brake lines, there are shops that make braided lines for street rods and such, all they need to know is the lenght and type of fittings, But then again ATK sorced almost all that stuff from other bikes, so it will be best for you to find out what came from what kind of bike

Last thing.... how cheap is cheap??

Re: Finding parts for 85 ATK

I think the closest atk dealer is in longmont,
the bike has wp 40mm inverted forks, and it has ktm cast on the rear hub, it has a magura m/c, and a brembo caliper. for it's age it's in decent shape, has new tires, the frame's straight and it runs perfect.

oh yeah...I Paid $500 for it and some other unrelated stuff.

Try a KTM dealer............ I think thats where the forks came from along with the wheels and hubs

IF I even remember right the tank/seat is for a YZ490?

A friend of mine (back in the day) had one, I think his was like serial# 13 cause that was a evil bike..... he had it up dated and up dated so I cant remember what it was really like.
