New Honda CR 85?

I was looking into getting a CR 85 for my son.
After talking with a few fathers (and the kids who ride)
about the new red machine, I don't know I want one for my son.
From what I have heard & saw about this bike, you can't keep the front wheel down. there is no easy way to apply power.
Any info would help.
Thanks J

Re: New Honda CR 85?

My gurl had a 00 CR80 and when the power band kicked in, it ripped.

How old is your son, how much experience does he have?

Maybe start him out on a 4 stroke?

Re: New Honda CR 85?

in motocross racing this is a desired trait. if your son is NEW or unexperienced DO NOT buy this bike for him, he will be on his back. this is a out of the crate RACE bike.

i had a cr60...same thing but smaller! awesome machine and i still ride it occasionally, but it broke for now....anywyas, it really has a killer powerband and the twist throttle on a 2 stroke with a begginer on it just = crash in a tree..just make sure he knos all about it and has a lot of practice
