Nylon melted on chrome pipes

Has anyone ever had to get melted nylon (from a MC cover) off their chrome tail pipes? If so, anything you can recommend to get my chrome clean? I've heated them up and tried to wipe the stuff off with a towel, that got most of it off. Chrome polish doesn't even touch it. Anyone know of a chemical that will get it off without damaging the chrome? Any help would be appreciated!

You could try something like carb cleaner but make sure you don't spray it on any of your plastic. It should melt that stuff on your pipe then polish with something like Autosol. Autosol is a good polish with a bit of an abrasive in it.

You might want to try the FINEST steel wool you can find.
that's what I use at my job,to get almost everything off chrome gizmos. It won't hurt the chrome. If you decide to use it, it might take some elbow grease.
