xr 650 xr650 L

Well, what a disapointment, I was going to by a xr650l that I thought was a xr 650 but with lights and an electric starter, it turns out that it's a completely different bike engine and all. It's not at all the proven desert winner that the xr650 is.
Anyone have any input on the street legal xr650, power, speed compared to the real xr?

Re: xr 650 xr650 L

Scrap the XR650L and buy the XR650R. Put the Baja Designs dualsport kit on it and be happy. The "R" is alot lighter, better suspended, and will have more jam than the "L".

Re: xr 650 xr650 L

Whataya mean the "L" isnt a desert proven machine? Its the same style motor thats won a bunch of baja's and even Scott Summers rode to a bunch of wins in cross country hare and hound races...

The new "R" (watercooled) is only in it's third(?) year of production ..... it IS a HONDA though so it is a winner.

They are both way too heavy and have more power than you could really use

Depending on how much daily street riding your going to do the "L" with its electric start might still be the better bike?

Also, fill out your profile! How big are ya? Where do you ride?....... or like your name do you SU(K?
