Front Rotor on the KLX

Fellas, the front rotor on my klx is warped/bent. It's rubbing slightly and it's easy to see with the bike on a stand and spinning the front wheel (which it wont do, spin freely, now). I can get a new one from rockymountain for like $50, but I've heard, one time, of a guy that had rotors pressed flat again. Anyone familiar with that? Anyone know of any place cheaper?

Re: Front Rotor on the KLX

I've seen rotors beat back into shape before, but not to perfection. You need to replace it. It will press your brake pistons in every rotation and give you a mushy brake feel.

Re: Front Rotor on the KLX

I have straightened them with a soft hammer and a screw driver while they were still on the bike before..... BUT.... they will NEVER be back to perfect!

How bad is your braking with the rotor bent? If it's not that bad try to fix it and enjoy it.....

it also might wear the pads funny (my bent one does) so keep an eye on that..
